“So, according to NPD State of Decay 2 was the highest selling game in May and was released on the 22nd of may with Detroit coming out a few days later but, sold more according to VGchartz. Retail cannot possibly be counting all sales. NPD is not lying over VGchartz. This math does not add up compared to NPD numbers. Feel free to explain.”
Could be that VG doesn’t track solely NA numbers (like NPD).. While Detroit could have sold less than SoD2 in NA, Detroit probably sold more globablly.
Edit: VG chartz: “Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in Europe with 150,402 units sold (41%), compared to 109,568 units sold in the US (30%) and 40,502 units sold in Japan (11%). Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 23,147 units in the UK, 30,026 units in Germany, and 23,661 units in France.”
If you look at the two breakdowns, Detroit sells 4K more in the U.S… it’s quite possible VG is off on their estimates… (it is an estimate after all). Even NPD doesn’t give exact game sales.
